Crafting Cold Brew without a French Press

Cold brew coffee's popularity is soaring thanks to its smooth taste. Here’s how to make it without a French press.

You can still create delicious cold brew without a French press. Just mix grounds and water in a jar and strain for a clean brew.

Step 1: Coarsely grind the coffee beans. This grind size is optimal for a clear, smooth cold brew.

Combine the ground coffee with cold water in a jar. Stir well to ensure all grounds are fully immersed.

For a robust cold brew concentrate, use a 1:4 coffee-to-water ratio. Experiment with this ratio and adjust according to your taste preference.

You can always dilute your concentrate as desired with water or milk when serving your cold brew.

Let the coffee mixture steep for 12 to 24 hours. Then, strain the brew using a cheesecloth or fine mesh to remove the grounds.
